The Character Map

¡Hola mis amigos!

Students in class were interested in writing Spanish using symbols such as the tilde or accent mark. For those of you who do not know how to do this I will guide you through it. It is very simple. If you are using a computer with the Microsoft Windows XP or Vista operating systems it is not difficult to discover the character map.

Uno: Open the Start Menu in the lower left corner.

Dos: Click on All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and then click on Character Map.

A screen should pop up that resembles the image on the left of the blog entry. The character map can be used for many languages, or for characters not on your keyboard. Simply copy and paste the letters, marks, or symbols. It is a user friendly tool. If there are any questions you may contact me at bstrade1@kent.edu, or through this blog. A simple Google search for "How to find Character Map" is efficient, too.

¡Buena suerte!
